She is also survived by her sister Barbara Albert of Mattawamkeag. In addition to her husband, Walter, Rita was predeceased by her sister Gwendolyn Ireland.

For over twenty years Rita was “The Avon Lady” for the Enfield and Howland area. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and the American Legion Auxiliary Post #97 for many years. She was an avid Bingo player and had many “Bingo Buddies”, too many to list. Rita will also be missed by a special friend she called her fifth daufhter, Tonja Tash, who she took under her wing years ago. Rita was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to everybody. She will be sadly missed by all those who loved her. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Howland Fire Department, CHCS of Lincoln, and EMMC Northern Lights.

Family of Helene Lugdon

Posted at 06:12pm
May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. Rita was a great person and a good friend of our Mother (Helene Lugdon). For a few years, they lived next door to each other until our Mom passed in 1971. She visited frequently and played cards with our Mother, along with a number of other women. Our mother enjoyed and looked forward to playing cards with them all. Rita was loved and will be missed by all who knew her. Our sincere Condolences... The family of Helene and Frank Lugdon (Duane, Elnora (Scofield), and Doreen (Thibodeau) and families)
