She is also survived by her sister Barbara Albert of Mattawamkeag. In addition to her husband, Walter, Rita was predeceased by her sister Gwendolyn Ireland.

For over twenty years Rita was “The Avon Lady” for the Enfield and Howland area. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and the American Legion Auxiliary Post #97 for many years. She was an avid Bingo player and had many “Bingo Buddies”, too many to list. Rita will also be missed by a special friend she called her fifth daufhter, Tonja Tash, who she took under her wing years ago. Rita was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to everybody. She will be sadly missed by all those who loved her. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Howland Fire Department, CHCS of Lincoln, and EMMC Northern Lights.

A celebration of Rita’s life will be held 11 A.M. – 2 P.M. Sunday, January 12 at the American Legion Post #97, Main Street, Howland. Graveside services will be held in the summertime at a date to be announced. Gifts in memory of Rita may be sent to Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish, St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, P.O.
