Millinocket – Martin “Beanie” Leo Jamieson, Jr., 93, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2020. He was born in Millinocket, January 19, 1927, the son of Leo & Florence (Stewart) Jamieson.

Beanie was a 1944 graduate of Stearns High School. After graduation he enlisted in the Navy and fought in WWII aboard the USS LENOIR. He later attended Ricker College in Houlton, Maine and received an Associate Degree. Beanie went to work for Great Northern Paper Company where he worked for 30 years, retiring as the Head Steam Plant Operator in 1987.

He is survived by his wife, Laura “Dolly” Jamieson, of 69 years and their 5 children – Scott, Steve, Susan, Sandy and Jon; along with 14 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and his brother, Joseph. He was predeceased by 6 sisters, Elizabeth Ann, Dorothy, Kathleen, Lottie, Mary and Theresa and 3 brothers, John, Gordon and Billy.

A private grave-side service will be held in the spring. Arrangements are by Lamson Funeral Home, Millinocket.
