Obituary

Lincoln – Harley John Perry, 83, died peacefully at his home on Sept. 18, 2020. He was born on his family’s Bagley Mtn. farm, March 21, 1937, the second son of Fay and Barbara (Farrington) Perry. Harley graduated from Mattanawcook Academy in 1954, and served for two years in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he won several awards for sharp-shooting; he was a lifetime member of the Lincoln Marine Corps League. Harley was an avid outdoorsman, who loved fishing, hunting, and camping, and was employed as the Material Handling supervisor at Lincoln Pulp and Paper Co. from 1958 until his retirement in 1999. He was predeceased by his wife of fifty-one years, Earlene (Dicker) Perry in 2012, a granddaughter, Leanne White, a great-grandson, Lance Chesley, and a brother, Lyndon Perry. He is survived by five children: Jeffrey Perry, and his wife, Sue, of Stetson; Richard Perry of Lincoln; Sandra Chesley, and her husband, Bill, of Woodville; Ronda White of Old Town; and Jennifer Perry of Lincoln; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers; three sisters. Graveside services, with military honors, will be held 2 PM Saturday, September 26 at the Lincoln Cemetery, Park Street side. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Toys for Tots program, c/o Lincoln Marine Corps League, PO Box 762, Lincoln, ME 04457. Arrangements are by Lamson Funeral Home, Clay Chapel, Lincoln.
