Obituary

Geraldine (Gallant) McCleary, 92, died, Sunday, April 7, 2019, at Stillwater Healthcare in Bangor. She has gone to her Lord and reunited with her husband John and her big loving family. Gerry was born June 26, 1926, in Millinocket, to Andrew and Gertrude She was the youngest of ten children, and the only surviving sibling. As a young woman she did secretarial work at the Justice Department offices in Washington DC and then at the Great Northern Paper Company. But she was most proud of her job as a dedicated loving mother and an exceptional homemaker. She married John in 1947 and they had three children.

Gerry is survived by her sons, John and wife Brenda, Jamie and wife Carol, and a daughter Kathy Day and her husband Mike. She has eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She is also survived by her special niece Mae Gallant and many other nieces and nephews, as well as a sister-in-law Iola McCleary. Gerry loved her Millinocket neighbors, friends, Church and Meals for ME card playing mates and she missed them terribly.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by the love of her life, John in 2009, a stillborn baby Patrice, and all of her brothers and sisters.

She never stopped talking about her home and she missed everything that home meant. But she appreciated the care and attention she received from her many caregivers in her last years.
