Obituary for Wayne Mark LaPierre

Wayne Mark  LaPierre
Millinocket – Wayne Mark LaPierre, 59, was taken away from his family and friends unexpectedly and far too soon on Friday, December 22, 2017 at a Bangor hospital. He was born August 1, 1958 in Cyr Plantation, the son of Donald and Bernadette (Dumais) LaPierre.

Wayne’s love of land and hard work began as a young child being brought up on a family potato farm. He continued to farm potatoes after graduating from Van Buren District High School in 1976. He moved and made his home in Millinocket in the early 80’s where he worked in nursing homes while becoming a self-made entrepreneur. His perseverance brought him into areas which included businesses such as trucking, owning and operating an appliance and furniture store, excavation and snow removal, apartment buildings and storage units to name a few.

Wayne always had a smile & had such a vibrant zest for life. He loved his children to the moon and back. Wayne enjoyed family gatherings, biking, hunting, snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, water & snow skiing. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and community.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Diem; his beloved children, Mason and Mayka; mother-in-law, Lan thi Nguyen; siblings, Lydia LaPierre Ouellette of Lakeworth, Florida, Daniel LaPierre and wife, Bernice of Sebastian, FL, Donna LaPierre Trussell and husband, Gary of Whitefield, Randolph LaPierre, East Millinocket, Andrew LaPierre and wife, Janet of Cyr Plantation, Paul LaPierre and wife, Darlene of Searsmont, Carla LaPierre, Hartford, Connecticut, and Patrick LaPierre and friend, Carol of Mattawamkeag; two nephews; seven nieces; and many, many friends and acquaintances.

In addition to his parents, Wayne was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Tom Ouellette.

Friends are invited to visit with the family 9-11 A.M. Saturday, January 13 at the Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack Street, Millinocket. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12 P.M. at Christ the Divine Mercy Parish, St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 19 Colby Street, Millinocket, with the Rev. Bruce Siket, pastor, presider. Spring interment will be private. Gifts in memory of Wayne may be sent to the Katahdin Area Support Group, P.O. Box 374, Millinocket, ME 04462.
