Obituary for Wayne E. Stevens Jr.

Medway Wayne Elwood Stevens Jr., 62, passed away Thursday August 15, 2019 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born April 30, 1957, in Lincoln, the son of Wayne Elwood and Dolores (Briggs) Stevens Sr.
He grew up in Springfield and graduated from Lee Academy with the Class Of 1975. He enlisted in U.S. Army in 1976 and served his country for three years before his honorable discharge in 1979. He later went to work as a mechanic for Katahdin Motors and retired after almost twenty five years of employment. He married Glenna Smith in 1994 and they would share twenty five wonderful years together. She always called him “Teddy Bear”
In addition to his wife Glenna of Medway, he is survived by four children: Michael Stevens and his wife Tiffany of East Millinocket, Darcy Brackett of Rhode Island, Chad Brackett of Florida, Amy Whitehead of Dexter, three sisters: Janet White, Gloria Dineen both of Lincoln, Vanessa Williams and her husband Richard of Bangor. He also will be greatly missed by sixteen grandchildren three of whom he raised Bailee, Brayden, and Joshua, his special father-in-law Maylind Smith of Springfield, two sisters-in-law: Debbie MacDonald and her husband Keith of Lee, Linda Osgood and her husband Joe of Springfield, a brother-in-law Verne Olsen and his wife Linda of Florida, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother Jeff Stevens.
Friends may call 12 Noon Wednesday August 21, 2019 at Lamson Funeral Home, Clay Chapel 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln, where a funeral will be conducted 2PM with Ben Jordan from the Kingdom Hall Of Jehovah Witnesses officiating. A committal service with military honors will be held at Grindstone Road Cemetery following the service. Donations in Wayne's memory may be made to the Wayne Stevens Memorial Fund in c/o Lamson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 618, Millinocket, ME 04462. A Celebration Of Life will be held at the home of Wayne and Glenna 12 Noon Saturday September 7, 2019 at 53 Jones Rd. Medway.
