Obituary for Wayne W. Dawes

Danforth – Wayne W. Dawes, 64, died Sunday, January 27, 2019 at a Houlton hospital. He was born December 1, 1954 in Lincoln, the son of Arthur S. and Lillian G. (Crocker) Dawes.

Wayne was a graduate of Mattanawcook High School, class of 1974. He joined the U.S. Air Force after high school, and served until his honorable discharge in 1978. Following his military service, he went to work at Lincoln Pulp & Paper, retiring in 2012. He enjoyed family time, camping at Jo Mary Lake in Millinocket, and fishing. He also was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing pool. Wayne also liked playing video games and listening to music.

He is survived by his children, Tanya Dawes and her boyfriend, Sheldon Simon, and Derek Dawes and his girlfriend Charlene Jones; three grandchildren, Dominic Dawes, Taylor and Sophia Simon; an aunt, Betty Leonard; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Wayne was predeceased by a sister, Connie Martin, a brother in law, Raymond Martin, an uncle Gerald Crocker, and two aunts, Shirley Green and Marion Michaud.

Friends are invited to visit with the family 2-3 PM Thursday, January 31, at the Lamson Funeral Home, Clay Chapel, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, where funeral services will be held at 3 PM. Spring interment will be held at the Lincoln Cemetery.
