Obituary for Veronica Mae "Porter" Handy
Enfield – Veronica Mae (Porter) Handy, 73, departed this earthly realm on Monday, March 29, 2021 after a graciously short knock-down drag out fight with lung cancer to join her family in heaven. She was born January 28, 1948 in Lincoln, the daughter of Oakley and Alice (McLaughlin) Porter.
She leaves behind and will be sorely missed by her enormous family – her former husband of 49 years, Michael Handy, Sr. and their children, Danielle Lawlor, her husband Mark and their son Sean (Go Navy!), Malena Handy and her children Gregory Rowley and his wife Erin, Amber Rowley and Kaitlyn Rowley, Michael Handy, Jr. and his partner Sue Kenneway and children Jeffrey Handy, Hayden Fogg, Jared Fogg, Nicholas Birtz, Remy Birtz, and grandchildren Lisa Fogg, Jessica Stanley and her husband Joey Stanley, Sr., their children Jordana Stanley, Jennah Stanley, Joey Stanley, Jr., and grandson Roman Hayes; and Amanda Limric and her husband Derek and their daughter Aubree; Veronica’s partner Wayne Martin, the man who made her laugh again; two sisters, Eyvonne Taylor and Mary Field and her husband Newton; a brother, Dale Porter; an aunt, Sadie Ogden; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, Veronica was predeceased by a sister, Jessica Porter, a brother, Oakley Porter, Jr., and a sister in law, Cherry Porter.
Funeral services will be held 1 PM Friday, April 2 at the Lamson Funeral Home, Clay Chapel, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Spring interment will be at Mt. Repose Cemetery in Burlington. Services will be livestreamed, and messages of condolence expressed, at www.lamsonfh.com.
