Obituary for Thomas D. House

Lincoln – Thomas D. House, 73, died Saturday, February 6, 2021 at a Lincoln health care facility after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. He was born July 7, 1947 in Lincoln, the son of Charles W. and Jessie L (Farnsworth) House.

Thomas grew up in Lee, and was a graduate of Lee Academy, class of 1967. For many years, Thomas enjoyed camping on the coast with his wife, Diana, and watching the Scottish Highland Games. He worked in the woods with his father as a logger for many years, before turning his attention to driving a truck, a vocation he enjoyed for the second half of his working career, and from which he retired. Thomas loved monitoring his CB radio, even after he was no longer driving truck. As a pass time, he enjoyed working with his hands doing wood working and making toy trucks, trains, and clocks which he would give out as gifts. Above all, Thomas loved spending time with family.

He is survived by three daughters, Veronica Shorey and her husband Keith, Theresa Savage and her husband Brian, and Maria Macalino and her husband Scott; siblings, Matthew House and his wife Thora, John House and his wife Cheryl, Lydia Moholland, Lee House and his wife Connie, and Ellen Holmes and her husband Steve; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Thomas will also be missed by his faithful canine friend, Babe. In addition to his parents and his wife, Diana, Thomas was predeceased by a brother, Arthur House, and a sister in law, Pam House.

Graveside services will be held in the springtime at the Lincoln Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lamson Funeral Home, Clay Chapel, Lincoln.
