Howland – Thelma J. Burgoyne, wife of the late Roscoe Burgoyne, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2019 at a Howland health care facility, after spending her last day on earth at her family’s camp on Cold Stream Pond, eating red hot dogs, chocolate pie, and making memories. She worked at Penobscot Valley Hospital for many years as a CNA. Joan will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother, a devoted wife, and loyal friend.

She is survived by five children, Catherine Sue Mattson and her husband Richard, Julie Ann McKechnie and her husband Glen, Kevin Ross Burgoyne and his wife Stacey, Kimberly Jean McLaughlin and her husband Andrew, and Laura Michelle Ireland and her husband Tim; thirteen grandchildren, Christopher, Jennifer, Kevin, Jamie L., Jamie M., Brad, Richard Ross, Samuel Emery, Allison, Brady, Sara, Whitney, and Rebecca; eleven great grandchildren, Christina, Alyssa, Emily, Kaitlyn, Davis, Griffin, Kortney, Leine, Brad, Jr., Lyndsay, and Sydney; two great great grandchildren, Kaiden and Owen; two sisters, Dorothy Haverlock, Janet Campbell and her husband Merle; a sister in law, Mary Smith; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
