Obituary for Samuel Paul Lemay DePaola

Samuel Paul DePaola, 27, of Holiday FL, a beloved husband, son, and friend, passed
away June 14, 2021.
Sam was born on October 23, 1993 in Millinocket, Maine. A proud lifelong Mainer.
Sam’s first job was detailing cars when he was a student at Bow High School, where he
graduated from in 2012. After school, Sam lived in New Hampshire and went to work as
a nursing home caterer where the residents all loved him for his positivity and generous
assistance. Sam then moved back to Maine and worked as a mechanic at VIP in Old
Town where he met his best friend and “brother” Travis Pelletier. He met his life partner,
Bailey DePaola, shortly after his move back.
After Sam's grandmother's passing in 2015, he decided he needed to better his life, and
took the most courageous step by driving to Florida where he fought and overcame his
battles with addiction and began to build the life he wanted. He eventually started a
successful career working for Fitnessmith. Installing and servicing fitness equipment
and quickly worked his way to Manager of Service Operations and Billing. He took pride
in all of his work and his employer expressed that Sam had a personality like no other,
always positive and willing to go above and beyond and excelled at everything he did.
He also worked on the side with his wife, Bailey, doing property maintenance which he
loved and excelled in.
Sam had a passion for fishing since he was 3 years old. A passion in which he got to
live out with his wife Bailey. Sam enjoyed spending a lot of his free time fishing and
kayaking with his wife, even though he was always out fished by her. Sam enjoyed
playing football, lacrosse, snowmobiling, hunting, camping, jet skiing, road trips,
swimming, going on walks and trips to the beach with their dog Nova, and playing pool
and darts with friends. He loved football Sundays and the Patriots. Sam had a passion
for cars and trucks. He also loved visiting Cold Stream and West Lake and spending
time with his family and friends who he adored.
He was one of a kind. Sam was one of the most gentle, caring, compassionate, patient,
and understanding persons one could ever meet, not only to people but to animals, too.
His warm smile could light up a room. His kind words brought comfort to friends and
strangers alike, listening for hours to the cares and concerns of anyone who needed his
ear. He was a very loving, outgoing person who was always lending a helping hand. He
wanted to help anyone possible and always went through life spreading positivity. He
was a selfless man and everyone around him could see it and feel it.
Sam fought against all odds, undergoing surgery after surgery and still kept his smile
despite the tremendous pain he felt 24/7. Sam will always be remembered for his
courage during difficult times and fighting all the battles life threw his way. Even though
he took his own life we know he is at rest without pain now.
Sam was predeceased by his beloved Grandmother, Helene Anna Cloutier. Sam is
survived by his loving wife, Bailey DePaola, to whom he was wed on August 23, 2019, a
perfect summer day in Maine. His beloved parents Dany (Cloutier) and Patrick Lemay;
His Grandfather Jean-Yves Cloutier; His sister, Katlyn Lemay and her significant
companion, Steve Gray Jr.; His in-laws Richard and Karel DePaola, Cameron DePaola,
Lindsey Geroux, Jason Geroux; His lifelong brother and best friend Travis Pelletier and

uncles, grandparents, and cousins from each family.
