Obituary for Samantha L. "Sam" Taylor

Medway – Samantha L. Taylor, 37, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at
her home in Medway. She was born August 2, 1982 in Millinocket, the daughter of Jesse and
Lisa (Stanley) Taylor.
Sam grew up in Medway, and was a graduate of Schenck High School, class of 2000. She was a
hard worker, and held several jobs, sometimes as many as three at one time. For many years, she
was a CNA at Katahdin Health Care, where she will be fondly remembered by residents and
staff, and also as a cook and waitress at area restaurants, and most recently she had been working
at Lennie’s Superette in Medway. Sam was known as a “straight shooter” who was known for
having no filter – one never had to wonder what she thought about any given subject! She loved
animals, as well as spending time with her family. Sam will be remembered best as a dedicated
and loving mother to her children, and beloved family member and friend to all who knew her.
In addition to her parents of Medway, Sam is survived by two precious children, Kaydence
Pelkey and Bryce Burleigh; a brother, Jonathan Taylor and his wife Clotell; two nephews, Brock
and Aiden Taylor; her maternal grandparents Linda and Clint Theriault; and many aunts, uncles,
cousins and friends. Sam will be especially missed by her loving companion, Jared McNally,
who by all accounts is the best thing that ever happened to Sam. She was predeceased by her
maternal grandfather, Jeffery Stanley, paternal grandparents, Starr and David McAdam, and the
father of her daughter, David Pelkey, Jr.
Graveside services will be held 2 P.M. Sunday, September 22 at the Stanley Family Cemetery,
Stanley Road, Medway, with Barney York officiating. Arrangements are by Lamson Funeral
Home, Millinocket.
