Obituary for Ruth Frances Jewell
Millinocket - Mrs. Ruth Frances Lane Jewell, 94, died peacefully December 28, 2019 at Katahdin Nursing Home. She was born January 18, 1925 in Millinocket, ME, the daughter of John A. Lane and Alice M. Stitham. Mrs. Jewell graduated from Stearns High School, class of 1942. She lived her early life in Millinocket, ME.
For a number of years she lived in Craven County and Vanceboro North Carolina prior to returning to Maine to be near her sons. She worked as a pharmacy technician in New Bern, NC. Her hobbies included photography, cake decorating, reading, Bible study, entertaining, and sewing. She was also an avid outdoorswoman.
Mrs. Jewell was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jesse S. Jewell Jr., daughter, Katie (Ruth) Lane, brothers, Marvin Lane and Alton Lane, and grandson, Shawn McAdam. She is survived by Daughters Bonneta Roix and husband, Gary, of Wilkesboro, NC, Roxanne Bosse and husband, Michael, of Boone, NC, Robin Angotti, of Seattle, WA, Sons Donald Holland, of Millinocket, ME, Richard Angotti, Jr. and wife, Brenda, of Millinocket, ME, Rodney Angotti and wife, Ada, of Millinocket, ME and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks for the excellent care their mother received at Katahdin Nursing Home.
Visitation with the family at First Congregational Church of Millinocket will be held at 10:00 am, July 31, 2020 followed by a Celebration of Life Service and burial at Millinocket Cemetery.
