Obituary for Royce A. Thompson
East Millinocket - Royce Thompson~ Dad, Papa, RoRo~ Born August 21, 1950, son of Arthur and June (Cram) Thompson went to drive the Golden Chariot up in the Heavens on March 18, 2019, surrounded by his Loving Wife, Children and Grandchildren.
Royce is survived by his wife Gayle, and daughter Destinee Thompson, who was the apple of his eye and loved so very much, son Lawerence Thompson and fiancée Holly and their children Mackenzie and Hunter, son Kerry Thompson and significant other Crystal Borrello and their children Cameron, Madyson, Mallory and Gage, son Lanny Thompson and wife Laney and their children Landon, McKenzie, Chandler and Grayson, step son Galen Hale and wife Tammy and their children Cameron Okeson and wife Airen and their children Khale and Kade, Alexxa and fiancé Joey Stoeckert and their daughter Kinsley, Gareth Hale, Hannah Taft and boyfriend Mac, step son Greg Hale and wife Heather and their daughter Giannah, step son Greylen Hale and his sons Gaven and Gage, step daughter Emmy Williams and fiancé Mark Gilman II and their children Dylan, Walker and fiancée Savannah, Sierra and Noelle, and his furry kids Bailey Girl and TomTom.
He will be dearly missed by his 3 brothers, Sterling and wife Ann, Relland and wife Jeni, Joel and wife Mary, and sister in law and brother in law Nancy (“Sista”) and Jeremiah Eckelberry, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and mother of his Boys Marcia Berube.
Royce was predeceased by his father and mother, Arthur and June, his grandparents Lawerence and Elsie Thompson and David and Florence Cram (Pa and Marm)
Royce served time in the United States Army, 101st Airborn, Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Royce worked for Great Northern Paper, Timberland Trucking as a dispatcher and long haul driver where he learned his walking roadmap skills, WT Gardners as a crane operator and most recently he traded in his work boots and jeans for dress shoes and dress shirts as he drove charter bus for Cyr Bus Lines and became part of a wonderful family there. He loved driving the bus and meeting new people along his travels. He especially enjoyed taking the Husson Football team and Coach Gabby Price to their games as well as his trips to Bar Harbor where he was almost always treated to a lobster dinner by his passengers. He had a way with people and I’m sure they will always remember him for “stirring the pot”, and overall kindness he showed to all.
Royce will be missed by all who knew him. He cared for so many and would give his last dollar to help anyone. He left a smile on people’s faces everywhere he went.

The family will be hosting memorial services 2 P.M. Saturday, March 23 at Calvary Temple Assembly of God, 2 Orchard Street, East Millinocket with the Rev. Kendall Sperrey, pastor, officiating. A reception will be held at the church after the services. Interment will be at East Millinocket Cemetery at a later date.
