Millinocket – Ronald G. Gelinas, 74, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2022, at a Portland hospital after a brief illness. He was born February 4, 1948, in Shawinagan Falls, PQ, Canada, the son of Achille and Florence (Bertihume) Gelinas.
Ron lived a very active lifestyle and could seldom be found at home. He enjoyed running, walking, fishing, spending time at his camp he built on South Twin Lake. Ron was an avid hunter and spent countless hours in the woods. He loved to impart his wisdom on other hunters and was often more excited to see someone he taught to hunt get a deer than when he shot his own. Ron was the first to offer help if it was needed in any endeavor. His presence will be sorely missed by those whose life he touched.
Ron is survived by his wife of 54 years, Donna (Anderson) Gelinas; two children, David Gelinas and his wife Lisa, and Lori Strobeck; two grandchildren, Christopher and Lauren Gelinas; two sisters, Solange Mayo and Ramona Smith; a brother-in-law, Scott Anderson; a sister-in-law Gerri Anderson; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close friends, too numerous to list. In addition to his parents, Ron was predeceased by a sister, Claudette Perron, father-in-law, Gilbert Anderson, and brother-in-law Brian Anderson.
Graveside services will be held 2 PM Saturday, July 23 at the Millinocket Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lamson Funeral Home, Millinocket. Services will be livestreamed and may be viewed, and messages of condolence expressed, at Ron’s Book of Memories at www.lamsonfh.com.
