Obituary for Robin A. Crawford

Lincoln – Robin A. Crawford, 74, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2020 at a Lincoln hospital. He was born December 25, 1945 in Drew Plantation, the son of Percy W. and Delarosa K. (Cottle) Crawford.

Robin grew up in Drew Plantation, and was a graduate of Wytopitlock High School, class of 1963, the same year he wed Lois J. Lawrence, whom he raised his family with and built a life together. Robin was a very hard working man. He started working with his brothers when he was 13, and went on to build Robin A. Crawford & Son Trucking, which grew into a large and successful operation, and Robin became a well known and respected businessman. Family mattered most to him, and he took great pride in providing for them. He was very particular in his business operations, insisting on all company vehicles and equipment being spotless and well maintained at all times. Robin was a very generous man, and was always fair in his dealings. He considered his employees to be an extension of his family, and took satisfaction in hearing of their successes in life. Robin loved being around people and talking - a story that took 10 minutes to happen would take 30 minutes to tell, punctuated with an enthusiasm and good humor that drew people close. He will be fondly remembered and lovingly missed by those who were blessed to have known and loved him.

Robin is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lois Crawford of Lincoln; two children, Robin “Grog” Crawford, Jr. and his wife Melanie, and Ann Marie Foster and her husband Glenburn; a son in law, Danny Larlee; seven grandchildren, Andrea, Robin III, Kenneth, Lauren, Allison, Ryleigh, and William II; three great grandchildren, Adlyr, Aldyn, and Adalyn, and a fourth, soon to arrive, Paige; a sister, Joanne Hanington; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Robin will also be missed by special friends Glen McKechnie and Percy Crawford, who he thought of as sons. In addition to his parents, Robin was predeceased by a daughter, Laurie Crawford-Mortensen, two brothers, Harry Crawford and Dale Crawford, and a sister Janice Wilcox.

Graveside services will be held in the springtime at the Drew Plantation Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lamson Funeral Home, Clay Chapel, Lincoln.
