Obituary for Robert E. Farrington

Medway – Robert E. Farrington, 86, died December 31, 2020, at a Millinocket hospital. He was born September 17, 1934, in Medway, the son of Alfred T. and Mary Louise (Moro) Farrington. Bob graduated from Medway High School, class of 1952, graduating as Salutatorian of the class. Bob was a member of the Maine National Guard. Bob was married to Priscilla C. Stanley in 1958, celebrating 62 years of marriage this past spring. Bob worked at Great Northern Paper for 40 years, retiring in 1994. Bob was a 50-year member of Pine Tree Lodge #172, Mattawamkeag, Maine. A member of the Scottish Rite 32nd degree and a member of the Anah Temple Shrine. Bob was a generous, kind, hardworking man but his true pride and joy was in being husband, father, and grandfather. Bob loved spending time with his family, teaching all the kids how to play cribbage. Bob is survived by the love of his life, Priscilla, children; Robert and Jeanine of Medway, Lisa and Scott of Sangerville, Michael and Sarah Joy of Bangor, grandchildren; Alan and Lynn, Ryan, Michaela, and Cassie, and Shawn and Adam, great-grandchildren; Izaac, Keagan, Thomas, Parker, Laithan, and a special little girl coming in the Spring. Bob is also survived by his sister, Regina McLaughlin; sisters-in-law, Patricia Farrington, Charlene and John Bunker; brothers-in-law Dwayne and Peggy Stanley and Otho and Fran Stanley, all of Medway, several nieces and nephews. Bob had many fond memories of time spent with very special friends Dale and Beverly Smart of Millinocket and Tashie and Betty Stanley of East Millinocket. In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his brothers John Wallace, Paul, and Richard; his sister, Orisse; his brother-in-law, Charlie; and daughter, Tina. Memorial services will be held at a later date and time to be announced by the Lamson Funeral Home in Millinocket.
