Obituary for Rev. Gerald E. Craig
Lincoln- Rev. Gerald E. Craig 70 went home to be with the Lord on Dec. 1st after a struggle with Parkinson’s disease. His wife and many loved ones were by his side in the days before his passing.
Gerald (Jud) was born in Brookton, Maine on February 8, 1951, the son of John B. Craig of Brookton and Margaret E. (Moore) Craig of Mattawamkeag. He grew up in Mattawamkeag and graduated from Mattanawcook Academy, class of 1969. He attended Faith School of Theology in Brooklin, Maine where he graduated in 1972. Gerald married Elaine R. (Grant) Craig of Medway in 1973. Gerald loved being in the great outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and “being at camp” in Mattawamkeag. He grew up working in the woods with his dad and loved cutting wood. Gerald pastored the Lincoln Center Church of God in Lincoln, Maine for 40 years with his wife Elaine by his side. More than anything He loved the Lord. Loving the Lord extended to loving people and he was always willing to help in any way he could. Gerald worked as parts manager at Thornton Bros. in Lincoln for 38 years and enjoyed the friendships that he made there.
Gerald and Elaine had two sons and were later joined by their wonderful daughter-in-law Trisha. Gerald is survived by his wife, Elaine, son, David and his wife Trisha, two beloved grandchildren, Emma Rose (12) and Liam Thomas (5), His sister Patricia Wing and husband Scott of Mattawamkeag, Mother-in-Law, Earlene Grant of Lincoln, Brother-law- Mike Grant and his wife Edie as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father John B. Craig, mother Margaret E. Craig, brothers, Floyd, Stephen, and John B. Craig 2nd. Also a sister Eva Lee and his son Justin Mark.
The funeral will be held Dec.11th at the Lincoln Ctr. Church of God at 1:00 with the Pastor, Rev. Donald Dicker officiating. Arrangements are by Lamson Funeral Home, Clay Chapel, Lincoln. Services will be livestreamed and may be viewed, and messages of condolence expressed, at www.lamsonfh.com.
