Obituary for Paul A. DiCentes

Millinocket – It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Paul A. DiCentes on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Northern Lights EMMC Hospital, due to complications of Covid-19. He was born December 10, 1948 in Millinocket, the son of Dominic and Clara (Kidney) DiCentes.

Paul attended Millinocket schools in his early years. After the untimely death of his father, the family moved to Brownville where he graduated from Penquis Valley High School in Milo, class of 1969. After high school, Paul began working at Great Northern Paper Company in Millinocket, from where he retired after 42 years as a Master Journeyman Millwright. He was a lifetime member of the Elks.

Paul married the love of his life, Sheila Monaco on May 22, 1971. Together they raised two sons, Tony and Jonathan. He loved following his boys in sports and all other activities that they were involved with. He was a big lover of snowmobiling, hunting, and atv-ing. He loved spending time woodworking, making furniture for family and friends. Paul enjoyed hunting at his camp in Lincoln with his buddies Ricky, Terry, Jamie, and Jim B., and especially summers camping at Balsam Woods Campground with Sheila.

Paul is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sheila A. (Monaco) DiCentes; sons Tony DiCentes of Millinocket and Jonathan DiCentes and his wife Erica of North Waterboro; a brother, John DiCentes of Millinocket; and several nieces and nephews who he was close to.
