Edinburg – Othniel B. Thurlow, 99, died Thursday, February 07, 2019 at a Howland health care facility. He was born October 20, 1919 in Dexter, the son of Henry and Alice Thurlow.
Othniel was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Corps as an airplane mechanic in England. He worked as Maintenance Supervisor at Pine Tree Tannery in Howland for many years. Othniel enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was well known in the area for his abilities working on small engines and outboard motors. After retiring he enjoyed travelling with his wife, Madeline. He attended the Enfield Baptist Church.
He is survived by four children and their spouses, William Thurlow and Elizabeth, Donald Thurlow and Ann, Diane and Carroll Lufkin, and Thomas Thurlow and Ruby; a special nephew, Timmy Thurlow; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Othniel was predeceased by his wife, Madeline (Brann) Thurlow, and a daughter, Viola.
Friends are invited to visit with the family 5-7 P.M.Thursday, February 14 at the Lamson Funeral Home, Clay Chapel, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, where funeral services will be held 7 P.M. with Pastor Don Willigar officiating.
