Millinocket – Olivia May (Carr) McGreevy Steeves, 93, was peacefully reunited with loved ones
on Saturday, February 4, 2023. She was born April 26, 1929 in Gerry, New Brunswick, Canada,
the daughter of Alden and Rosella (Shanks) Carr.
She is survived by three children, Letricia Gillis, Ernest Steeves and his wife Cathy, and Christie
McGreevy; eight grandchildren, Nicole Gillis, Kimberly O’Brien, Michelle Jones, Courtney
Steeves, Ryan Whitehouse, Molly Jamieson, Shawn Denson, and Ashley Sanders; ten great
grandchildren, Declan and Cadan O’Brien, Jacob, Olivia, and Gabriel Whitehouse, Aidan
Jamieson, Cameron and Samantha Sanders, and Lily and Kimber Denson; a sister, Lucy Celeste
and her husband Bob; a sister in law Anne Colombo and her husband Michael; and several nieces,
nephews, and cousins. Olivia was predeceased by her first husband Donald McGreevy and their
children Donna Denson, Donald Scott McGreevy, and Susan McGreevy, and her second husband
Ernest “Ernie” Steeves.
Lovingly known as Nana to her family and Lady Liv to her friends, she brought love, style, and
grace to all who encountered her. The matriarch of our family got tired and decided it was time to
rest. “A lady always knows when it’s time to leave the party.”
Graveside services will be held at 1:00PM Thursday, June 22, 2023 at the Millinocket Cemetery
