Obituary for Norris Dale Lovett
Norris Dale Lovett, 80, has reunited with his wife of nearly 61 years, Bonnie (Larkin) Lovett. He was born March 23, 1939 in Passadumkeag , the son of George J. Lovett and Edrie (Mace) Lugdon.
Norris grew up on the farm on the Ridge, and after graduation he joined the U.S. Army, proudly serving his country in Korea. Norris and Bonnie raised their daughters in Howland in her family home. He worked as a heavy equipment mechanic during the initial construction of Interstate 95, and retired as a Millwright from Haskell Lumber Company. After retirement he found great pleasure participating in the returning troop greetings at Bangor International Airport. He filled his time with his love of the outdoors, many social engagements and as a talented woodworker doing projects for his family. Norris spent many years volunteering at Leonard's Mills as part of the Tuesday Crew and as a member of the Board of Directors. He was a master at mechanically adapting anything to function; not always as originally intended.
In addition to his parents and wife he was also predeceased by three siblings, Abbott Lovett and his wife, Rosalie, Paul Lovett, and Geneva Brown; step-father, Frank Lugdon; sister-in-law Gail Larkin.
Norris is survived by, four daughters, Lori Lovett, Karen Loupin and David, Julie Robshaw and Ralph, and Jana Pierce and Dennis; his cherished grandchildren, Derek, Cassandra, Serena, Nicholas, Samantha, Amanda, Andrew, Brittany, Brandi, Sierra, and 16 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Jean Coen and Mike; a sister-in-law Donna Coffin; a brother-in-law, Ansil Brown; and treasured nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by treasured friends of the Coupon Gang and friends at the lake.
Norris would like you to know that it meant so much to him to receive visitors during his inpatient time and he would encourage you to visit those in nursing and rehab facilities.
He would be honored for any and all donations to be given to the Maine Forest and Logging Museum, Leonard's Mills, P.O. Box 104 Bradley, Maine, 04411, and to not only donate but to go and enjoy the museum.
