Mattawamkeag – Moses V. Karikala, 58, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 18, 2022. He was born April 22, 1963 in Secunderabad, India, the son of Vijaya Rao and Devapala (Asoda) Karikala.
Moses grew up in India, and was a graduate of Osmania University there. He was also a graduate of Zion Bible Institute in Rhode Island. Moses will be remembered by many people he ministered to through his work at the Helen Dunn School, KidsPeace, and as a minister with the Church of God and chaplain at Penobscot Valley Hospital in Lincoln. He loved God first and foremost, followed closely by his family, working with kids, seeking adventure, and offering prayer and encouragement to those he met and those he encountered through his social media page “Love In Christ”.
Moses is survived by his wife of 31 years, Stephanie J. (Stairs); three children, Heather Karikala and fiance Cody, Faith Karikala, and Josiah Karikala; three grandchildren, Ethan, Aurora, and Indi-Ari; siblings, Shylaja and Daniel; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Moses was predeceased by two siblings, Lazarus and Emmanuel.
Friends are invited to visit with the family 10-11 AM Saturday, April 23 at the Mattawamkeag Church of God, where funeral services will be held at 11 AM with the Rev. Mark York, pastor, officiating. Spring interment will be at the Mattawamkeag Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lamson Funeral Home, Lincoln.
