Obituary for Melissa M. "Minnie" McAlpine (Briggs)

Springfield- Melissa M. (Briggs) McAlpine "Minnie", 87 died on October 7, 2022 at Lincoln Hospital.
She was born on July 5, 1935 in Kingman Maine. Daughter of John Durgin & Mabel Pearl
(Worster) Briggs. She was raised by her grandmother Elise Pride (Davis) Worster. Graduated 8th grade in 1951. She married Albion B. McAlpine Sr on November 18, 1954 and divorced after 20 years.
She survived by her six children, twelve grandchildren and twenty six great grandchildren that she loved more than anything. Son's Albion B. McAlpine Jr (Butch) from Springfield, Charles W. McAlpine & Significant other

McAlpine & Significant other Norma Layton from Springfield and his children Janessa McAlpine and her mother Tammy Leach and Bion Grant and his mother Mandy Grant. Also survived by Brother Richard Briggs and Sister's Shirley Drew, Madeline "Maggie" Briggs.
Several Nieces and Nephews. A very special niece and her home care nurse Betty (McAlpine) Arbo.
She is predeceased by her parents and grandparents and granddaughter Bernice Watson and two grand angel babies and multiple great grand angel babies and her four Brother's Almon & his wife Theresa Briggs and Kenneth, Arthur, Raymond Briggs. Sister Delores (Dolly) (Briggs) & her Husband Wayne Stevens. Her aunt Lois (Worster) McAlpine.
She loved her family more than anything and enjoyed having family and friends around. She loved cooking many things for her family and also her famous Molasses Cookies.
She enjoyed singing, dancing at the Red Garter in Saint Albans, also many family events. Her hobbies as in karaoke, playing her guitar and jam sessions with many family and friends , piano/organ, bingo and
card games and many more hobbies. Her favorite TV shows were Midwest Country Show with Jonathan Reine, Gunsmoke, Reba and many western shows.
A graveside service will be held at Tucker Ridge Cemetery in Springfield at 2pm on Thursday October 13, 2022. For whom all would like to attend, be at Lamson (Clay's) Funeral Home in Lincoln between 1:00-1:30 pm for Funeral Procession.
There will be two Celebration of Life, One in Springfield and One down in Central Maine area at a later date.
