Chester – Maurice E. Chase, 85, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born May 11, 1934 in Grand Falls, the son of John and Angie (Gillespie) Chase.
Maurice served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a hard working man who loved being outdoors, whether it was for work or hunting or enjoying nature. Maurice was a loyal and dedicated family man. He will be lovingly missed and fondly remembered by those who knew him.
Maurice is survived by his wife of 38 years, Hazel A. (McLaughlin) Chase; four children, Barbara Sibley-Chase, Patty Mulligan and her fiance Brandon Ham, Peggy Drinkwater and her husband Roland, and Carroll Tash, Jr. and fiancée Cassandra Junkins; thirteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Maurice was predeceased three children, Travis Chase, Luann Shorey, and John Chase; a grandson; two great grandchildren; two brothers, Richard Chase and John Chase, Jr.
Graveside services, with military honors, will be held 11 A.M. Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at the Middle Cemetery, South Chester Road, Chester, with Pastor Keith Shorey officiating. Arrangements are by Lamson Funeral Home, Clay Chapel.
