Obituary for Marylene Brown

Marylene Brown, 85 passed away April 28, 2023, at Millinocket Regional Hospital surrounded by her
loving family. She was born on August 22, 1937, in Stockholm, Maine to Percy and Evelyn (Levesque)
Soucie.

Raised in Millinocket, Marylene was a 1956 graduate of St Martin of Tours Catholic School. Following
graduation, she worked for New England Telephone Company in Portland then returned to Millinocket
where she wed and became a mother raising 4 children. In later years she worked for Kennebec Savings
Bank in Augusta, and having earned a CNA Certificate and completed hospice training, she came to
provide in-home care to the elderly.

Marylene was a lifelong devout Catholic faithfully attending St Martin of Tours Catholic Church in
Millinocket where she was a member of the church choir as well as the folk group. While residing in
Vassalboro she attended St Andrews Catholic Church in Augusta where she taught CCD and Vacation
Bible School.

A remarkable cook, Marylene enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends, most especially
over the holidays. Notably, she was a kind and caring person always putting others before herself. She
had a special place in her heart for kids, the elderly, and animals. She loved her children and
grandchildren dearly and devoted her life to making each of them feel special, and instilled in them the
importance of having good manners, being kind, considerate, honest, respectful, and humble.

Marylene is lovingly remembered by her sons, Nathan Theriault and significant other, Donna Stevens;
Paul Theriault and wife, Julie; daughters Janet Theriault and friend, Reid Campbell; Joy Bonenfant and
husband, Bill; grandchildren, Alexis and Adam Bonenfant; sister-in-law, Carol Soucie; nephews Michael and Mark Soucie and their families. She was predeceased by her parents and brother, Norman Soucie.

The family would like to thank the many people who assisted with Marylene’s care over the years -
staff at Stearns Assisted Living; individual caregivers, Kendra Cummings, Karen Crocker, Katelyn
Montgomery, Pam Farquhar, Gina Beaulieu, Brenda Leblanc, Linda Ippoliti; staff at Maine Veterans
Home Augusta, CHCS Hospice, and Millinocket Regional Hospital.
