Obituary for Margaret P. Fayle (McDonald)

East Millinocket – The Heavenly Choir gained a new voice on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, when Margaret P. (McDonald) Fayle joined them in praises to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was born in Millinocket, the daughter of Michael A. and Hazel M. (Wright) McDonald. Margaret was predeceased by her beloved husband of 49 years, Earl R. Fayle, Jr.

A 1954 graduate of Stearns High School, Margaret was a charter member of the First Baptist Church of East Millinocket and was involved in many activities there and in her home church, the Millinocket Baptist Church, where she grew up singing in the choir with her sisters. Margaret’s life revolved around her family and church family, serving on the Deacon’s board and many committees at the church. She loved to attend and participate in any church musical praising her Lord and Savior. Margaret lived a strong faith and was a fervent prayer warrior. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Margaret is survived by four children, Nancy Picard, Earle Fayle and his wife Rita, Jeffrey Fayle and his wife Sandra, and Tammy Elliott and her partner George Tapley; nine grandchildren, Sonja Bugg and her husband Brad, Edgar Hamm, III, Allan Picard, Drew Fayle and his wife Jenny, Kate Fayle, Michael Elliott and his wife Hannah, Joshua Elliott, Amanda Elliott, and Rebecca Elliott; twelve great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Fernald; a sister in law Barbara MacDonald; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents and her husband, Margaret was predeceased by seven brothers, Howard, Mitchell, Frances, Ernest, John, Angus (“Gus”), and Raymond; and three sisters, Dorothy Kelley, Marion McInnis, Alice Astle.

Friends are invited to visit with the family 12-1 PM Saturday, April 15 at the Millinocket Baptist Church, 297 Penobscot Avenue, Millinocket, with funeral services beginning at 1 PM with the Rev. Tim Bossie, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at the East Millinocket Cemetery later in the spring. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Margaret may be sent to the East Millinocket Baptist Church, 2 Oak Street, East Millinocket, ME 04430, or to the Millinocket Baptist Church, 297 Penobscot Avenue, Millinocket, ME 04462.
