Obituary for Margaret M. Hawkins (Jones)

Lincoln and Benton – Margaret M. Hawkins, 75, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at a Waterville health care facility. She was born October 21, 1945 in Boston, Massachusetts, the daughter of Frank A. and Virginia M. (Stewart) Jones.

Margaret worked at Penobscot Valley Hospital in Lincoln for many years as a surgical technician. She was fun loving and outgoing, and always enjoyed staying active. She often played volleyball, pickleball, and liked going to the gym. Margaret loved animals, and often walked her dogs. She was a very socially interactive person, and her friends would say they enjoyed making many crazy memories with her! Above all, Margaret loved her family, especially her children and grandchildren, to no end.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Russell T. Hawkins’ two children, Thomas Hawkins, and Virginia Cloutier; two grandchildren, Keegan and Alexis; two sisters, Lindy Handy of Delaware, and Isabel Linscott of Florida; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Memorial services will be held 2 PM Sunday, December 20 at the Lamson Funeral Home, Clay Chapel, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Gifts in memory of Margaret may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association, 383 US Route One #2C, Scarborough, ME 04074.
