Obituary for Madeline Kay Potvin

MEDWAY - Madeline Kay Potvin, 81, passed away Friday, March 25, 2022, in Millinocket. She was born April 5, 1940, in Guilford, the daughter of Harold "Buster" and Lynnette (Fogg) Day.
Kay was a graduate of Medway High School, class of 1958, and married the love of her life and soul mate, Jerry Potvin, in August of that year. Kay was a faithful communicant of St. Peter's Church in East Millinocket, where she was a regular worker at the annual Lawn Party. An active parent, she was a volunteer with the local PTA, and the girl scouts and boy scouts. Every year she looked forward to planting and growing her garden and canning the produce that came from it. A talented crafter, Kay worked for many businesses over the years as a seamstress, in addition to owning her own craft shop. Kay enjoyed going for long rides with Jerry, stopping for picnics and for fishing various spots. Jerry would never have admitted it, but Kay out fished him most days! She will be remembered for always being there, with her never ending supply of love, for her children and grandchildren.
Kay is survived by five children, Lorri Cyr and Rick, Lisa McLaughin and Stan, Angela Adams and Chris Elkins, Jerry Potvin and Erika, and Chris Potvin and Heidi; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents and her husband, Kay was predeceased by four brothers, Reggie, Dusty, Richard "Dick" and Dana; and two sisters, Dorothy White and Penny Meredith White.
Services will be held at a date to be announced. Messages of condolence may be expressed at lamsonfh.com.
