East Millinocket - Louis Ernest “Peewee” Morin, 89, passed away in his sleep Saturday, February 16, 2019, while surrounded by loved ones. Louis was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was born February 25, 1929, in East Millinocket, the son of Andrew and Leona (Theriault) Morin.
Louis served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict while being stationed in Germany. After his discharge he returned to East Millinocket and started working at Great Northern Paper Company for 40 years until he retired in 1986. He was a master carpenter and spent many hours in his back shop making beautiful furniture. If he wasn't in his shop he was tending to his garden or chasing his grandsons' games. He was a communicant of St. Peter's Catholic Church where he did numerous projects such as developing the church bell monument and building the church Parish Hall. Louis was a member of the Knights Of Columbus since March of 1948.
He is survived by his loving and very devoted wife of 63 years, Lorraine (Roy) Morin of East Millinocket, his daughter Jacqueline Pushard and her husband Philip of Brewer, two grandsons: Benjamin and Matthew Pushard of Brewer. He also leaves behind three sisters and their families: Esther Morris and her husband Frank Willette, Kathleen Albert and her husband Ronald, Priscilla Collinsworth all of East Millinocket, three brothers and their families: Donald Morin and his wife Betty, Clarence Morin and his wife Beverly, Roger Morin and his wife Mary, and a sister-in-law Ruth Morin all of East Millinocket. In addition to his parents Louis was predeceased by four brothers and wives: Fred and Virginia Morin, Francis Morin, George and Germaine Morin, and Rudolph and Eunice Morin, as well as two brothers-in-law Hugh Morris and Clifford Collinsworth.
Friends may call 6-8 PM, Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Lamson Funeral Home, 17 Western Ave., East Millinocket. A Mass Of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Wednesday at Christ the Divine Mercy Parish, St. Peter's Catholic Church, 58 Cedar Street, East Millinocket with Rev. Bruce Siket, pastor, presider. Relatives and friends are invited to a reception at the Parish Hall following the service. A committal with military honors will take place in the spring at East Millinocket Cemetery. A special thanks goes to the nurses and doctors of Lincoln Dialysis Center and to Beacon Hospice, especially Tayla, who the family was very appreciative of her love, time, and care.
