Obituary

Millinocket – Linwood E. “Teewee” Walsh, 87, died Thursday, June 20, 2019 at his home, surrounded by those he loved. He was born July 17, 1931 in Millinocket, the son of James W. and Beatrice D. (Brown) Walsh.
Linwood grew up in Millinocket, and attended schools in town. He was drafted into the Army during the Korean Conflict, and was discharged in 1954. Following his time in the service, Linwood returned to Millinocket and worked at the Great Northern Paper Company, from where he retired in 1987 with 38 years of service. He was able to pass that on to his children who continue to enjoy it. Linwood was a lifelong member of the Francis E. Elliott Post #4154, V.F.W. in Millinocket. He will be remembered and missed by those who knew him.

(Thibodeau) Walsh; a daughter, Lynn Cox and her husband Tony; a step son, Jon Thibodeau and his wife Yuanzhu; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Linwood was predeceased by four brothers.

One by one, as the years roll on, we are called upon to fulfill these sad duties of respect to our departed comrade. The present, full of the cares that beset all nations whether engaged in war or peace, fades away as we look back on the day this comrade left his home to defend his country. Imbued by a spirit of devotion and inspired by an undying love of his native land, he gladly went forth and joined with comrades both young and old to preserve our heritage of freedom
