Obituary for Keith C. Stratton Sr.

Chester – Keith C. Stratton, Sr., 82, passed away Friday, January 17, 2020 at Northern Light EMMC to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Keith was born to John C. and Mildred (Wellingotn) Stratton on August 16, 1937 at the family farm in North Chester.

Keith was a graduate of Lee Academy, class of 1957, where he broke and set state records in Cross Country, and played baseball, His love for sports continued throughout his life while cheering for the Red Sox and Patriots. He also enjoyed farming, raising animals and growing a garden, including his apple trees and pear trees. He especially enjoyed his beloved Arabian horse, Sophie. Huntin, fishing, and family gatherings were some of his favorite things to do. On December 19, 1959 he married Linda L. Emerson, with whom he has shared more 60 years as husband and wife. Keith was a loving father to Keith C. Stratton, Jr., Eugene, Troy, and Karen He was blessed with nineteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Linda, Keith is survived by his sons, Keith Stratton and his wife Robin of Chester, Eugene Stratton of Chester, Troy Stratton and his wife Suzette of New Hampshire, and a daughter, Karen Stratton of Chester; siblings Joyce Trask of Orono, John C. Stratton, Jr. and his wife Sharon of Mattawamkeag, Alberta Stratton Gould and her husband Kenneth of Etna, and Eugenia Smart and her partner John Moholland of Chester; sisters in law Peggy Cote and her husband Richard of Alton, Charlotte McClure and her husband Wendall of North Carolina, and Linda Emerson of Greenbush; a brother in law, Frederick Emerson and Donna McCormick of Chester; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is also predeceased by his parents, his mother and father in law John and Josephine Emerson, and his brothers in law Luther Trask and Joseph Emerson; and his daughter in law Robin Stratton.

Memorial services will be held 1 PM Saturday, January 25 at Maranatha Riverside Church, 176 River Road, Lincoln with Rev. Scott Taylor, pastor, presider.
