Obituary for June Irene Thompson (Cram)
East Millinocket - June Thompson, 92, went Home to be with our Lord and Savior in Heaven on Saturday, December 29, 2018.
June was born October 19, 1926 in Medway to parents David and Florence Cram. June was a proud member of the 1947 graduating class of Medway High School and served on the reunion committee in 1985. She married E. Arthur Thompson on July 2, 1949 and together they raised four loving sons. She loved Schenck High School Basketball and enjoyed watching three generations of Thompsons take the court. You could find her in her usual corner seat for nearly any game. She worked many jobs in her days including helping out at Uncle Ray’s Junk Shop, serving as a custodian at church and even greeting customers with a smile at McDonalds.
June was most known for her kindness and concern for others. She was a sweet soul who would do anything for anyone; from running a food pantry in her basement to organizing clothing closets at church, she did whatever she could to serve others. As a member of Katahdin Region of Concerned Citizens, she worked, by faith, with other community members to build homes for those in need. She fought tirelessly for Justice for Joyce alongside her precious niece Pam McLain and was blessed to see justice served in her lifetime.
June was predeceased by her husband, Arthur, her parents and eleven of her siblings. She is survived by one sister Annie Hale Seavey of East Millinocket. June is survived by her four sons Royce and wife Gayle of East Millinocket, Sterling and wife Ann of Medway, Relland and wife Jeni of East Millinocket and Joel and wife Mary of Windham. She was a loving and supportive Nanny to nine adoring grandchildren; Darrick and wife Stephanie, Erica Ingalls and husband Jason, Dustan and friend Carey Thorpe, Lawrence and fiancé Holly, Maghan and friend Russell, Danielle and friend Jarod, Kerry and friend Crystal, Lanny and wife Elaine, and Tyler and wife Amanda. Her blessings multiplied with each birth of her fifteen great grandchildren and she was excitedly awaiting the birth of the sixteenth in Ramstein Germany any day. Also surviving her are many special nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Blessed to still be living in the home she once shared with her husband, June was grateful to have received exceptional care from the wonderful employees at In Home Care Agency, especially Donna Duffy and Evie Farrar.
At June’s request, there will be no viewing or funeral. Graveside services will be held in the Spring. In lieu of cards or flowers, the family is asking you to spread kindness. Love your family, feed the hungry, clothe the needy, donate to your favorite charity. Do all things with Love, because that’s what June would do!
