Millinocket & Lumberton, NC-Judith F. Gore, age 79, died peacefully on April 9, 2022 in the Millinocket Regional Hospital. She was born January 3,1943, in Lumberton, North Carolina the daughter of Marie Gore and Barcy Gore. Judy graduated from Lumberton High School in 1961 and was a photographer for Jones & Presnell at W.T. Grant Dept. stores throughout the state of Maine for many years, then put herself through college working at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor and graduated from the University of Maine at Orono with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 1987, after which she became a State of Maine Senior Bank Examiner travelling throughout the state. She was devoted to her lifelong friend and companion, Minerva Proctor, who preceded her in death in 2017.
Judy is survived by her sister, Karen Gore of Fayetteville, NC and Minerva’s niece, Sharon Darling and her husband, Tom. She was predeceased by her mother, Marie Stanton Gore & her father, Barcy Gore, sister, Jackie Inman and brother, Johnny Gore.
We would like to thank all the staff at the Millinocket Regional Hospital for their extra special loving care of Judy during the last weeks of her life. Memorial services will be held 11 AM Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack Street, Millinocket with Fr. Dominic Savio officiating. Interment will be in the Millinocket Cemetery & in Lumberton, NC. Services will be livestreamed and may be viewed, and messages of condolence expressed, at Judy’s Book of Memories at www.lamsonfh.com.
