Obituary for Joseph F. "Kenny" Bartlett

Lee – Joseph F. “Kenny” Bartlett, 93, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at a Howland health care facility. He was born at home in Lee, Maine, January 19, 1926 the son of Leslie and Althea (Spearin) Bartlett.

Kenny worked for 30+ years at Foster’s Manufacturing in Mattawamkeag. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved spending time at his camp up back and fishing at Scraggly Lake. He was known by many for his basket making ability; making anything from small baskets to large pack baskets and clothes baskets. He also loved to knit; giving those handmade mittens away put a smile on his face. He enjoyed a good game of horseshoes back in the day and later on, cornhole.

He was predeceased by his wife of many years, Evelyn (McEwen) Bartlett and brother Wayne Bartlett, Sr. He is survived by his sister Lorraine “Hope” MacMannus of Brewer, a special sister-in-law and companion Helen Cole of Lee, and several nieces and nephews, including one special nephew, William Bartlett of Lee. Kenny will also be missed by his beloved Chihuahua, Jasmine.

Friends are invited to visit with the family 6-8 P.M. Thursday, August 15 at the Lamson Funeral Home, Clay Chapel, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Graveside services will be held 2 PM Friday, August 16 at the Woodlawn Cemetery, Lee, with the Rev. Regginal Adams officiating.
