Lincoln - Jon Thurlow Gilpatrick, 82, born July 23, 1937, died peacefully at his home on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 surrounded by his family.

Jon graduated from Mattanawcook Academy in 1955 and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he served as as a Military Police for four years. He was honorably discharged in 1959 and returned to Lincoln to work in his father’s woods operation. After several years, he went to work at Worcester Brothers in Lincoln where he remained until his retirement in 1999.

He met, fell in love, and married Joanne Michaud in 1961. They were together for 58 years and had three children. He is survived by his wife Joanne Michaud Gilpatrick; son, James Gilpatrick and his wife Wendy of Lincoln; two daughters, Lori Libbey and her husband Darrell of Lincoln, and Lynda Gott and her husband Arthur of Georgetown, Massachusetts. Jon had seven grandchildren who he adored and loved watching them all play ball and five great grandchildren who made him laugh and smile with their visits. Alicia Gilpatrick Gardiner and her husband Jeremy, children, Camden, Kellen, and Teagan of Windham, Derek Jon Libbey and wife Abby of Cranston, Rhode Island, Jayme Gilpatrick Smith and husband Justin Smith, USCG, children Aubree and Easton of Windham, Renee Libbey Michaud and husband Jake from Westbrook, Morgan Gott of Fairfax, Virginia, Matthew Gott of Bloomfield, Connecticut, and Daniel Gott of Georgetown, Massachusetts. He is also survived by his brother David Gilpatrick and his wife Jane of Franklin, Tennessee, a sister Sally Gilpatrick Chamberlain and her husband Stan of Barrington, Rhode Island, and sister Jane Gilpatrick Cabiro and her husband Richard of Kenner, Lousiana.

At Jon’s request, there will be no funeral services. The family will have a private graveside service at a later date. Arrangements are by Lamson Funeral Home, Clay Chapel, Lincoln.
