Obituary for John I. Flynt Jr.
Lincoln – John I. Flynt, Jr., 78, went home to go fishing early in the morning of Wednesday, January 13, 2021. He was born December 1, 1942 in Wantaugh, New York, the son of John I. and Louise D. (Herald) Flynt.
John loved being outside, whether it was fishing, camping, or spending time with his family. He loved enjoying a good bonfire in the backyard, regardless of the weather conditions, and it was not uncommon for him to get too close and find his down jacket to be smoldering from an errant spark landing in an inopportune spot! He will be lovingly missed and fondly remembered by those who knew him.
John is survived by his wife of 38 years, Barbara-Jean (Hammond) Flynt; two children, Jennifer Grenier and Dan Peterson, and Jacquelyne Flynt and Matt Moriarty; five grandchildren, Natalie, Jacob, Lindsey, Evan, and James; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and a twin brother, Robert.
At John’s request, there will be no services . Arrangements are by Lamson Funeral Home, Clay Chapel, Lincoln.
