Millinocket –John C. Farquhar, Jr., 93, died Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at a Bangor health care facility. He was born January 12, 1929 in Millinocket, the son of John C. and Helen M. (Lewis) Farquhar, Sr.
John grew up in Millinocket, and was a graduate of Stearns High School, class of 1946. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1946-48 and worked for the Great Northern Paper Company in Millinocket as a mechanic for 33 years, retiring in 1976. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, and puttering around. He was a man that was always busy and was considered a “Jack of All Trades”.
John is survived by two brothers, Donald Farquhar and Stewart Farquhar; a sister Marjory Moore; a loving “Papa” to Laura, Erin, John Michael, Michael, and Kenzie; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by a daughter Robin Harris, and his constant companion for 40 years Juanita MacDonnell.
Graveside services with military honors will be held 2 PM Thursday, August 11 at the Millinocket Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lamson Funeral Home, Millinocket. Services will be livestreamed and may be viewed, and messages of condolence expressed, at John’s Book of Memories at www.lamsonfh.com.
