Lincoln – Joanne M. Chase-Smart, 86, died Saturday, March 21, 2020, after a long hard fought battle, at her home. She was born March 11, 1934 in Portland, the daughter of Raphael and Ruby J. (Durell) St. Pierre.

Joanne was a graduate of Winterport High School, class of 1953. She operated Bruce’s Store in Lagrange for 25 years with her first husband, Bruce Bowden, Sr. Joanne loved fishing, snowmobiling, and spending time at her favorite place, her camp on Schoodic Lake. She rode her snowmobile until she was 80 years old! Joanne loved going for boat rides and having her children around her. Her favorite saying was, which she often said to everyone, “I Love You More!”

She is survived by three children, Bruce Bowden, Jr., Deborah Morang and her husband Dennis, and Darren Bowden; six grandchildren, Ericson Estes, Melinda Bowden, Christina Colburn, Brooke Bowden, Erica Bowden, and Wendy Bowden; six great grandchildren; and a special brother in law, Stanley Bowden.

There will be a private family gathering in the spring. Arrangements are by Lamson Funeral Home, Clay Chapel, Lincoln.
