Obituary for Jerold "Jerry" Arthurs

Jerry Arthurs, 72, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2020 at a Bangor hospital with his wife Phyllisann at his side. He was born October 22, 1947, in Lincoln, the son of William and Ila (Boyington) Arthurs.
He graduated from Mattanawcook Academy in 1965 and after graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served his country during the Vietnam Conflict and was honorably discharged in 1970. He married Phyllisann Severance in 1971 and together they would raise their two sons. Jerry worked as an assistant manager, a millwright. Jerry and Phyllisann owned and operated The Lake Molunkus Sporting Camps for many years. Jerry and Phyllisann also took care of many foster children and then he was owner and operator of Beech Hill Artisans.
He is survived by his wife of forty nine years Phyllisann Arthurs of Beech Hill, Damien Arthurs and his wife Kelly of Lincoln, Jeremy Arthurs and Randi of Lincoln, six grandchildren: Adam, Chloe, Harrison, Nolan, Liam, and Eric. He also leaves behind four siblings: Linda Houghton of Lee, Ellen Shorey and her husband Eric of Lee, Robin Polomsky and her husband Grant of Connecticut, Bill Arthurs of Lee as well as several nieces and nephews. Jerry also leaves behind special foster children:Trudy, Scott, Nathan, Amanda, and Ryan. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers: Larry and Joseph Arthurs.
A graveside service with military honors will be conducted 10 AM Thursday, July 16, 2020 at Lincoln Cemetery with the Rev. Mitch Bickford officiating. A Celebration Of Life will be held at a later date. Those who wish to remember Jerry in a special way may make donations in his memory to a children's charity of their choice.
