To know Jean was to love him, a man of large stature, laughter and a love of life. Over the years as a woodcutter who owned his own business, his paths crossed with many woods operations throughout the state. Though he worked endlessly providing a home for his family, he played just as hard.
Many friends and acquaintances will not soon forget his teasing, big bear hugs, endless smile, broad voice and his large hands with a firm grip. A dedicated member of St. Leo’s Church, he also served on the Knights of Columbus as a fourth degree lifetime member.
Over the years, many people sought Jean out for his help, honesty and humor. A love of snowsledding, Nascar, road trips, eating out and RV camping from Maine to Florida, life with Jean was never dull and always an adventure! And each time he left the home, a horn was blown and a wave given to his wife and children.
As the end neared, Jean embraced his family and friends drawing them close to offer comfort, advice on life’s lessons and his final instructions which included how to continue in this world without him. He was candid and jovial as he reminded all who visited this was no time for tears. Always the provider and with a twinkle in his eye, he shall not soon be forgotten for his legacy is larger than his hands!
