BANGOR It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of our beloved son, grandson, brother, father, nephew, cousin, uncle and friend. Jason long suffered from congestive heart failure resulting from having severe sleep apnea.

Jason was predeceased by his father, Lupati C. Travoli. He is survived by his mother, Sherry Hinrichs; Terri Hinrichs whom was always there for him; their three children, Kyle and his fiancée Chelsea, Austin and Elizabeth. Jason was very proud of his children and loved them unconditionally. He will be forever loved and missed by his sister Angela, her husband Erik and their children, Joslyn and Weston Jason. He will also be missed by his brother Lupati and his wife Fonda and their children Su’e and Lupati; his sister Christine and her son Brayden; and his grandparents Alan and Geraldine Gagnon. Jason loved and appreciated his Grammy and Grampy more than words could ever express. Jason always recognized their continual love and support and positive influence throughout his entire life. Jason also leaves behind his Uncle Kurt, his wife Leslie and their children Elizabeth and Emily. He admired, loved and respected Kurt immensely and treasured the times they spent together ice fishing and boat fishing.

Jason thought the world of his special great nephew, Carter Charles, and loved him as if he were his own son. Jason will also be missed by Buster and Sully, his longtime feline companions; he took great care of these kitties and loved them with his whole heart.

Jason was born in Lewiston, Maine, but spent most of his life in the Bangor area. Jason was the cutest little boy with dimples and the brightest smile. He was an amazing dancer, and may have won a break dancing or a hip-hop competition a time or two. Jason was also a talented artist as well as a phenomenal chess player, having been taught by the late Doc Mann at Camp Jordan. Some of Jason’s best childhood memories were made at Camp Jordan.

Jason graduated from Foxcroft Academy in 1990. He then served time in the Army Reserves. Afterwards, he worked at Fairmont Market and Seamus’ Market, and had countless hilarious stories of those days. He valued the friendships he made along the way working at both places. Jason was an avid sports card and memorabilia collector. In the late 1990s Jason co-owned with Matt Ryder, The Red Zone Sports Cards & Collectible Shop. Jason loved the buzz of the children coming in after school looking for the latest and greatest Pokémon cards. Jason would often reminisce of those happy times.

Jason was also a huge Pittsburg Steelers & Red Sox fan. He knew stats like no- other and he always had the best game-day food line-up. He will be remembered for his delicious crockpot chili and bean-hole beans.

Jason lived for summer days when he could go “upta camp” with his family and friends. He relished in the times spent relaxing around a fire listening to music.

Jason had a wonderful sense of humor and was quick witted; he could make the grumpiest person laugh and had an ability to make friends with just about anyone. Jason had countless lifetime friends, a true testament to his loyal and easy nature. He cherished all his friendships and will be remembered for his strength through adversity and the love he had for his family and friends.

Jason was very proud of his Samoan Heritage and family.

Jason will be sorely missed by his fantasy football, baseball draft and Xbox Live community.

Please join Jason’s family for a Celebration of Life Service on 1 PM Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Calvary Temple Assembly of God, 2 Orchard Street. East Millinocket. Graaveside committal will take place in August of 2019 at the East Millinoccket Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lamson Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to sleepapnea.org
