Obituary for Jane L. Boyer (Coon)

Millinocket – Mom was called away to be with her Lord and Savior unexpectedly on Monday, February 1, 2021 at the age of 68. She was born December 13, 1952 in Millinocket, the daughter of Ronald and Doris (Richards) Coon.

She was a high honors graduate of Schenck High School, class of 1971. She worked for the Medway School Department as a bus driver and then Transportation Supervisor for over 20 years. She spent her “retirement” working for Bragdon Bus Service in Millinocket for the past few years. She spent many years working on the river as a whitewater rafting bus driver. She absolutely loved working with her “summer kids”. So much so that they would ride by at all hours of the night and scream “We Love You, Jane!” and honk their horns. Jane was an active member of the Living Hope Church of the Nazarene. She served as Board Secretary and was so proud to be a servant of the Lord. She had so much faith and instilled that in everyone around her. She was an awesome wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was a single mother of 4 children for many years until she decided to tie the knot with Fred Boyer on February 14, 1998. Jane absolutely adored her family. Nothing came before her family and the Lord. She lived to spend time with family and her best furry friend, Bella.

Jane is survived by her husband of 23 years, Fred Boyer; four children, Deanna Coombs and husband Brian of Gardiner, Lorna Thompson and wife Denise Albrecht of Auburn, Leo Thompson and wife Tammy of Turner, and Shawna Boyer of Millinocket; nine grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Jaron, Isaiah, Nathan, Jacob, Owen, Zachary, Nora, and Noah; two great grandchildren, Elliott and Elijah; siblings Lorena Otis and Philip Roy of Veazie, Ronnie Coon and wife Debbie of Medway, Larry Coon and wife Kelly of Veazie, Joel Coon and wife Paula of Medway, Audrey Sherwood and husband Steve of Medway, Terri Turcotte and her husband Joe of Medway, and Corey Coon and wife Kelly of Virginia Beach, Virginia; a brother in law, Joe Gagnon of Medway; and best friend since kindergarten, Elaine York of Medway; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents and a sister, Mary Gagnon.

Friends are invited to visit with the family 12 – 12:45 PM Friday, February 5 at the Living Hope Church of the Nazarene, 3 Palm Street, East Millinocket. Interment will be 11:00AM Saturday July 1, 2023, at the Millinocket Cemetery and messages of condolence may be expressed, at Jane’s Book of Memories at www.lamsonfh.com.
