Obituary for Ingrid M. MacDonald (Schmidt)
Tucson, Arizona - Ingrid M. Schmidt MacDonald, 92, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, October 15, 2020, at her residence. She was born January 18,1928, in Hamburg, Germany, the daughter of Anna Hedwig Schmidt.
She married the love of her life, Angus J. MacDonald in London, November 23, 1957. They settled in Tucson, Arizona in 1981 after many years of service to the US Air Force.
She was predeceased by her mother; her grandparents that raised her, Emil and Hedwig Schmidt, her beloved husband, SMSgt Angus “Gus” MacDonald, a special friend, Elwood “Eddie” Keller of Tucson, AZ, and several brothers and sisters in law. She is survived by sisters in law Shirley Fernald, of Millinocket, Maine, Margaret Fayle of East Millinocket, Maine and Barbara MacDonald of Sanford, Maine. Also, first cousins Werner Schmidt, Traudi Luitjens, Ingrid Bauer, and Peter Krista, of Germany, 2nd and 3rd cousins in Germany, and many nieces, nephews and special friends all too numerous to list.
Ingrid loved to bring joy to the days of those she knew and adored, through phone calls, emails, cards for any occasion, and chocolate. Ingrid will be greatly missed by all who loved and adored her.
Private graveside services will be held on 1 PM Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Millinocket Cemetery, with the Rev Tim Bossie officiating. (masks required) Due to the pandemic, there will not be a reception. Arrangements in care of Lamson Funeral Home, Millinocket.
