Obituary for Ida Morse

Ida M. Morse, 90, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2019 with her daughter by her side. She was born in Millinocket, September 6, 1928 to Roderick and Margaret MacKenzie.

She was a strong and loving, mother and grandmother, sister. Ida cared deeply for her family, sharing thoughtful and impactful lessons with her children and grandchildren throughout every stage of life - often with humor, a gleam in her eyes, and a warm smile that always seemed to say, "everything will be alright."

While raising her children, she was a full-time and dedicated Stay-at-Home Mom. Later, she worked within the local community at W.T. Grant, became Manager of Big L Drug Store, and retired as Bookkeeper at Brandon Oil Company.

In retirement, she enjoyed many winters on the coast of Florida and summers at South Twin Lake, along with husband Harry E. "Cooper" Morse Jr.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by husband Harry; daughter, Frances Moores; brothers, Stewart, James, Daniel, Malcolm, Raymond, David and Kenneth.

She is survived by daughter, Beth (Michael) Tapley of Cape Canaveral, FL; son, Harry "Chip" (Jean) Morse III of Millinocket; sister, Nina Pelletier of Cape Canaveral, FL; grandchildren, Peter Tapley of Utah, Jonathan Moores of Pennsylvania, Rachel Kuras of New York, Jessica Lundstrom of Alton and Rebecca Deschaine of E. Millinocket; great grandchildren, Zachery and Althea Tapley, Ella, Stephen, Elizabeth and Sophia Moores, Connor, Eli and Cecilia Kuras, Benjamin and Vivienne Lundstrom and Amelia Deschaine.

In keeping with her wishes, a private graveside service at the Millinocket Cemetery will be held at a later date.
