Henry worked hard with his hands, he may have only had an education of 6th grade because he had to stop school to help work in the woods with horses hauling wood to help his parents with the family. But he was life smart and could fix almost anything – he was a very smart man. He used to cut 120 cord a week by himself using a skidder. Back in those days that was a lot. He was a great supervisor and advisor on any projects you had going - he would “study it out” as he would say and find away. He helped with the Boy Scouts and for anyone that ever needed help, he was there. He loved his fishing trips with Sonny Dumont and the boys and teaching Ruben (“Rubie”) how to fish. He loved fishing and riding around with Joe Searles and loved to listen to music and watch movies. He loved working at B n W Variety store (my handy man and jack of all trades), He loved going to breakfast with Scott Littlefield on Sundays and going to the Howland stores and the 95er Garage to shoot the breeze with the boys, watching them while they worked. He would call them friends by greeting them with “Hi Chum!” that meant he cared for you. Thank you for everyone that took great care of him. He will be greatly missed. Jr., he will miss your visits. Melissa your daughter took great care of you and we thank her for all her hard work at keeping you with us for as long as God would allow. Till we meet again Daddy Jesus will take over your fatherly duties of care over us. And we thank God for His Heavenly healing over you, no more pain and breathe freely my friend. We have a lot to look forward to when we get to heaven. As I was reminded by a special lady at the hospital Gods word says one day is like a thousand years so daddy we will see you shortly don’t eat all the family pack double stuffed Oreos, late night early morning donuts and milk, sardines and Vienna sausage without us! Remember, it’s a family pack and we can’t wait to eat them with you again. As you would say to us as we would be leaving “Catch you on the run!” . Love you, Daddy. Friends are invited to visit with the family 6-8 PM Friday, April 1 at the Lamson Funeral Home, Clay Chapel, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, where funeral services will be held 4 PM Saturday, April 2. There will be an additional hour of visitation one hour prior to the service. Services will be livestreamed and may be viewed, and messages of condolence expressed, at Henry’s Book of Memories at www.lamsonfh.com.
