Mattawamkeag and Millinocket – Heather Angelica Karikala, 31, went home to be with Jesus on October 24, 2022. She was born September 2, 1991, in Houlton, the daughter of Moses and Stephanie (Stairs) Karikala.
Heather was a graduate of Southern Aroostook High School, class of 2009. She attended the University of Maine at Presque Isle and Eastern Maine Community College where she took business and accounting classes. Most recently she was studying to become a pharmacy tech. Heather worked as a work study student in the office at EMCC, and was also a manager at Macy’s in Bangor, as well as at Dunkin’ Donuts in Millinocket, and various other jobs. Heather loved her children and enjoyed cooking and baking. She loved music and sang beautifully. She loved serving people and meeting the needs of others and had a special spot in her heart for animals, especially cats. Heather will be remembered for her loving spirit and beautiful smile.
In addition to her mother, Heather leaves behind three children, Ethan Kenneson, Aurora McGary, and Indi-Ari Karikala; a brother Josiah Karikala; a sister Faith Karikala; maternal grandparents David and Deborah Stairs; uncles Adam Stairs, Michael Stairs, Daniel Karikala and his wife Sue; an Aunt Shylaja Karikala; and several cousins and numerous friends. She was predeceased by her father, paternal grandparents Vijaya Rao Karikala and Devapala Karikala; and uncles Lazarus and Emmanuel Karikala.
