Obituary for Harold R. Smith

Medway- Harold R. Smith, 72, passed peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones on October 15, 2022. He was born September 24, 1950 in Lincoln, son of Randolph V. and Vera L. (Nadeau) Smith. Harold graduated with the last class of Mattawamkeag High School in 1969. Following graduation he worked various trades, before beginning his 41-year career as a millwright at Great Northern Paper Company, where he formed many friendships, including a brotherly bond with Dwayne (Gomer) Stanley.

Harold enjoyed life in the fast lane. In his early days it was fast cars. Later in life Harold enjoyed the freedom of the open road on Harley-Davidsons, which he rode most of his life.

His children and family were his pride and joy. A very selfless man, he would always make sure that everyone was taken care of before him. He will be remembered as having a rough exterior but having a heart of gold.

Harold is survived by his wife, Kim (Glidden) Smith and her family, his first wife Laura Lymburner and her family, his son Joshua Smith and his family, his daughter Amanda Major and her family, and “his girls” and their families: Kristi Powers, Kari Joy, Traci Thompson, Tammi McAdam, his brother George (Leah), his sister Mary (Roger) Russell, many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

Harold was predeceased by his loving second wife Colleen L. (Jacobs) Smith, as well as his parents and his sister Virginia (Jimmy) Briggs, and beloved aunts and uncles.

Friends are invited to visit with the family 12-2 PM Saturday, October 22 at the Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack Street, Millinocket, where a Service of Remembrance will be held at 2 PM.
