Obituary for Gertrude A. Leet (Chasse)

Millinocket – Gertrude A. Leet, 85, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at a Millinocket health care facility. She was born December 2, 1934 in Millinocket, the daughter of Daniel W. and Muriel A. (Gregory) Chasse.
Gertrude grew up in Millinocket, and attended Millinocket schools. She loved life, and enjoyed many social activities with friends, including bowling, shuffleboard, gardening, playing cards and cribbage, spending time at camp, and visiting thrift shops. Many people will remember Gertrude for her love of singing karaoke. In years past, Gertrude worked as a crossing guard and helping with the lunch program in the schools. For many years, Gertrude enjoyed having pet birds which provided her great enjoyment and companionship over the years.
She is survived by 8 children, Eugene Joseph Labelle and his fiancé Geraldine Wyman, Pamela Jones and her husband David, Sr., Michael Labelle, Sidney Labelle and his wife Diane, William Labelle and his wife Elaine, Terry Labelle and his partner, Sally Wilson, Jeffrey Labelle, and Roxanne Labelle and her husband Jeffrey Budden; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Gertrude will also be missed by a cherished, dear friend, Robert Metcalf. She was predeceased by a daughter in law, Ruth Labelle.
Private graveside services will be held at the Millinocket Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lamson Funeral Home, Millinocket.
